iPhone 8 rumors from multiple sources as well as leaked its renders have revealed that the Apple iPhone 8 that will be arriving with iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus to mark the 10the anniversary would be coming with a full-screen design. The biggest iPhone 8 leak seems to have now surfaced directly through Apple itself.
In the previous week, Apple had rolled out an early firmware for the newly introduced HomePod smart speaker even though the device is scheduled to release in the market in December this year. Two iOS developers were able to discover information about the upcoming iPhone 8’s design and one of its new features in the code of the firmware that was recently released for the HomePod.
Guilherme Rambo, a macOS and iOS developer was able to find an image that corresponds to the leaked front panels of the rumored iPhone 8. As it can be seen in the image found in the code, the iPhone 8 has a full-screen display and it does not feature a front-facing fingerprint scanner. It has been found that the above image belongs to a device that is codenamed as D22. There is no confirmation on whether D22 is the codename of the highly anticipated iPhone 8.

Another iOS developer, Steve Troughton-Smith who scoured through the code of the firmware was able to find several references of the new facial recognition feature that is expected to arrive on iPhone 8. A recently surfaced image of the front panel of the iPhone 8 had revealed that the pair of iris sensors present on the top bezel is meant for the 3D facial recognition feature.
Some rumors claim that the iPhone 8 will not feature a Touch ID sensor whereas some other sources claim it would be embedded under the display. Whether the iPhone 8 features a Touch ID sensor or not, it seems that it will be arriving with facial recognition feature. According to Troughton-Smith, the BiometricKit framework that usually contains information about Touch ID authentication is now filled with references to Face Detect as seen below. Also, the reference of Pear ID could be a codename of Apple iPhone 8’s facial recognition feature.
Apple has reportedly started the trial production of the iPhone 7S, iPhone 7S Plus and iPhone 8 that are scheduled to debut in September. There is a possibility that Apple may debut a refreshed iPhone SE in August.
